framethefolks was engaged to develop the branding and key visuals for WorldSkills ASEAN 2023, creating a visual system that could be rolled out across out-of-home placements, digital platforms, and social media touchpoints. The objective was to capture the scale, energy, and diversity of the competition while appealing to a broad public audience.
The creative direction centred on a mixed-media approach, combining expressive illustrations with existing imagery of competitors. Due to the inability to conduct new photoshoots, the challenge lay in reworking available assets in a way that still felt fresh, dynamic, and cohesive. framethefolks approached this by layering graphic elements, colour, and motion-inspired forms over the imagery, transforming static visuals into high-impact compositions.


Illustrative elements were used to symbolise skill, movement, and progression, allowing each discipline to feel distinct while remaining part of a unified visual language. This approach not only addressed production constraints but also elevated the campaign’s energy, creating visuals that felt celebratory, contemporary, and purpose-driven.
